Route Selection Options, Feasibility Study and Preliminary Engineering Design of a Bypass around the Serengeti National Park (514 km)

The Serengeti National Park in North-western Tanzania is famous across the world for its abundant wildlife, incredible scenery, and rich cultural heritage. It is also famous for the annual migration of more than 1.5 million Wildebeests and Zebra to and from the Masai Mara National Park in Kenya. The Government of Tanzania has received technical assistance and financing from the German Development Bank (KfW) to carry out a feasibility study for a bypass to avoid traversing and potentially destroying the fauna and flora inside the Serengeti National Park. We were engaged by Tanroads to identify and assess different routes around the National Park following which we carried out feasibility study and preliminary engineering designs of the preferred option.
