The objective of the project is to improve the productivity and efficiency of the Dar es Salaam Port container terminal operations, to integrate three railway gauge systems and operators (Central Corridor, TAZARA and Standard Gauge Railway) coming into the Port, and to design specific new railway and operational layouts to support expansion of the Dar Port, the Ilaya Yard, and the Isaka Inland Container Terminal. The project is funded through the Tanzania Intermodal and Railway Development Project (TIRDP) funded by the World Bank.
