Dar es Salaam Metropolitan Development Project

The project involves construction of 75 km of urban roads and drainage improvements in the Kinondoni Municipality of Dar es Salaam. The project is providing single and dual carriageway sections, improved junctions, bridges and flyovers, footpaths, and cycle lanes as well as improvements to the flood control and stormwater drainage network in low-income neighbourhoods of the municipality. The project is part of the Dar es Salaam Metropolitan Development (DMDP) funded by World Bank.

The services provided involve design review, new design and tender documents, tender administration and procurement assistance, programme management and construction supervision of 9 individual works contracts, monitoring and evaluation of ESIA and RAP issues and capacity building of Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government and Kinondoni Municipal Council staff over the duration of the project.
